Mission
Heritage Preservation
The memory of the Jewish people still holds within it the history of the nations in which it has settled. Monuments do not freeze events in an irretrievably bygone past, but rather signify the hope for brotherhood and the possibility of a peaceful future between peoples. Preserving Jewish heritage affirms a desire for hope in the future without forgetting the past.
The Luxembourg Jewish Foundation contributes to the preservation of Jewish cultural heritage in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and in Europe, and to the preservation and maintenance of Jewish cemeteries.
It works to preserve the memory of the Holocaust at a time when the voices of the last witnesses are fading.
It combats anti-Semitism in a world that is witnessing the resurgence of old demons.
More than ever, the focus must be on education for those who have not experienced the horrors of evil, particularly young people and those who teach them history. This is why the Luxembourg Jewish Foundation supports educational study trips and initiatives that contribute to history education in order to preserve memory.
